CIPPIC calls for reform of PIPEDA

CIPPIC filed asubmissiontoday with theHouse of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethicson its review of thePersonal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act(PIPEDA). Referring to the results of itsstudy of business compliance with PIPEDAreleased earlier this year, CIPPIC is calling for a number of reforms designed to produce greater corporate compliance by clarifying substantive obligations and creating incentives for organizations to respect the law.
