CIPPIC files privacy complaint about ISP use of Deep Packet Inspection

CIPPIC has asked the Privacy Commissioner of Canada to investigate the use by Bell Canada and other large Canadian ISPs of "Deep Packet Inspection", a technology that permits ISPs to look at content of internet traffic as it flows through the network. Bell has admitted to using the technology in order to manage traffic on its network. CIPPIC News Release
