CIPPIC is looking for exceptional lawyers committed to advancing public interest technology law to join its growing team.

Both positions will report to CIPPIC's Director and work closely with CIPPIC lawyers, students, and external partners on litigation, regulatory advocacy, legislative reform, and strategic policy initiatives. Both lawyers will also contribute to CIPPIC's clinical programs and supervise law students.

(1) Senior Legal Counsel: The Senior Legal Counsel will work across CIPPIC's public interest technology law mandate, with responsibilities that include litigation, regulatory interventions, knowledge mobilization, and mentoring CIPPIC lawyers and students. The position requires at least five years of legal practice, clinical teaching, or equivalent public interest experience.

(2) Staff Legal Counsel, Digital Rights: The Staff Legal Counsel will contribute to CIPPIC's digital rights work in Canada and internationally, addressing issues such as platform accountability, content moderation, online safety, algorithmic governance, freedom of expression, privacy, and digital markets. The position requires relevant experience in legal practice, clinical teaching, or equivalent public interest work.
