Consumer Measures Committee consults on ID Theft

CIPPIC filed comments in response to a consultation by the federal/provincial/territorial Consumer Measures Committee on proposed measures to help counter identity theft and fraud. Proposed measures include some that CIPPIC has already advocated, such as requiring organizations that store personal information to notify individuals in cases of security breaches, and allowing consumers to place freezes on their credit reports.
